Plaxpot Fibroblasting Skin tightening treatment

Fibroblasting with the Plaxpot Device

Fibroblasting boasts being one of the only cosmetic procedures in the industry that uses plasma to make soft arcs on the skin stimulating the skin to instantly shrink, tighten and eliminate loose and excess skin. Plasma Skin Tightening is renowned for its remarkable Non-Surgical lifting and tightening, Non-Invasive treatments such as effective smoothing of lines and wrinkles, Eye lifts, Removal of Vascular lesions, Pigmentation & Skin tags, Full Face and Jowl Lifts.

These treatments are low risk and hold a minimal recovery time of 4-10 days allowing the client to return to work the very next day. These treatments can be performed in as little as 90mins and are drastically cheaper than any surgical procedure with the guarantee of a similar result if not better.

Mole & Skin tag removal

Our most popular request is for mole or skin tag removal, particularly on delicate areas like the eyes and face. Moles must be cleared by a Doctor first before we can proceed with the removal.

On consultation, we will assess the area then provide you with a numbing cream to apply to the area 45mins before your treatment. It is important to use the full amount the therapist provides and give adequate time for the cream to work, this is for your comfort.

You can be assured you are booking with an experienced therapist who has performed many tag removals close to the lash line, Trish will talk you through the procedure which usually takes less than 20minutes depending on the size and amount.

What are the dots and how does it work?

The Plaxpot Pen is one of the best on the World's market, being Medical Grade and works by establishing a flash of heat to ionise the air between the pen and the skin causing an arc or electrical charge. With the Plaxpot, high voltage is not transferred directly to the skin, It is transferred through the internal generator which then generates plasma. The Plaxpot collects the plasma and transfers it to the skin evenly and superficially, which results in less risk of burns, scarring and hyperpigmentation.

This process is also known as Sublimation, Fulguration or Electrocoagulation.  The flash causes the body to respond to the ‘wound’ by producing a rush of Fibroblast cells to the area which in turn helps to regenerate lost collagen and elastin in the skin. This ionisation helps the skin to instantly shrink, tighten and plump the skin within the treated area, leaving behind a Carbon Micro Crusting (the dots)  this, in turn, allows new skin to reform and rejuvenate leaving you with immediate and amazing results. These results will continue to improve over the course of the healing period for up to 6 months, as the skins cycle is renewed.

What treatments can be achieved with Fibroblasting?

Fibroblasting has been successful in treating numerous areas and skin conditions on the face and body

Treatments include and are not limited to, the removal and reduction of;

  • Reduction of deep wrinkles

  • Skin tag removal

  • Pigmentation (On fitz 2-3)

  • Sun and liver spots

  • Loose skin crepey skin

  • Hooded eyelids

  • Brow lifts

  • Jowl lifts

  • Under eye bags

How long does the treatment last?

Fibroblasting treatments trigger long lasting results which can be seen up to 14 days post- treatment. The client will notice significant improvement immediately following their treatment, although best results will be seen between weeks 4 & 6 as the skin rejuvenates.

A second or third treatment is recommended after 12 weeks depending on the desired outcome of the client.

A Plasma Skin Tightening treatment, while not 100% permanent, should last the client YEARS depending on their age and area treated. Because the treatments won’t stop the client from further aging, we cannot guarantee a permanent result, we can however, promise an amazing and lasting result without the invasion of surgery.

It is important to note that some lifestyle factors may have an effect on the treatments permanency. Things such as smoking, alcohol consumption and prolonged sun exposure may cause skin damage and hinder the result. Clients must also be aware that their genetics and race may also affect their results.

Risks & Side Effects

Plasma Skin Tightening has been proven to be a safe treatment if being performed by a trained and certified technician. It is non-invasive and does not cause bleeding or bruising of any nature. While numbing creams are applied before the procedure is carried out, clients may still feel some slight discomfort during and after.

Some redness and swelling will be noticeable for 24-72hrs following a procedure but should begin to subside after 24hrs. Swelling may be increased the next day as plasma and fibroblasts begin to respond to the area. Increased swelling in the eye area is to be expected and could last between 3-5 days.

Clients will have numerous carbon crusts/ tiny brown dots on the treated area for 4-10 days following the treatment which will appear scabbed. These crusts will dry out and fall off once the natural exfoliation phase has passed revealing new pink skin underneath.

Like any cosmetic procedure, there are always risks and side effects involved.

  • Pain- Most people feel some heat-related discomfort during the treatment. This discomfort is usually temporary during the procedure and localized within the treatment area.

  • Redness and Swelling- Fibroblasting treatments will cause varying degrees of redness and swelling in the treatment area. These common side effects last from several days to a couple of weeks depending upon the aggressiveness of the treatments.

  • Itching- This can occur as part of the normal wound healing process or may occur as part of infection, poor wound healing or contact dermatitis.

  • Acne or Milia Formation- A flare-up of acne or formation of milia, tiny white bumps or small cysts on the skin, may occur. These symptoms usually resolve completely. Although not necessary, on occasion a series of prophylaxis antibiotics may be prescribed by your Doctor.

  • Pigment Changes- During the healing phase, the treated area may appear to be darker. This is called PIH, post inflammatory hyperpigmentation. PIH occurs as a part of the normal skin reaction to injury.  This pigmentation usually fades in 3 to 6 months.

  • Good SPF sun protection is vital in the 12 weeks post treatment.

  • Hypo-pigmentation- In some patients who experience pigment changes, the treated area loses pigmentation and becomes a lighter color than the surrounding skin. This type of reaction may also be permanent.

  • Bleeding; Oozing; Crusting- Aggressive treatment may cause pin point bleeding and/or oozing. Crusting or scabbing may form after the drying of clear fluid or blood. These reactions need to be reported to the office for additional post care instructions.

  • Blisters; Burns; Scabbing- Heating in the upper layers of the skin may occasionally cause blisters or burns and subsequent scab formation. The blisters usually disappear within 2-4 days. A scab may be present after a blister forms, but typically will disappear during the natural wound healing process of the skin.

  • Scarring- Scarring is a possibility due to the disruption to the skin’s surface and/or abnormal healing. Scars, which can be permanent, may be raised or depressed, and scarring could lead to loss of pigment or hypo-pigmentation in the scarred area.

  • Melasma – Melasma is a condition which is very difficult to treat. Although good results have been obtained, multiple treatments, as well as use of bleaching creams are necessary for optimal results. No guarantees can be offered, as results vary greatly from patient to patient.

Clients with dark skin are not suited to Fibroblasting treatments as hyperpigmentation (dark spots) or hypopigmentation (light spots)  are likely to occur, it is possible to start a course of Tyrosinase Inhibitors to prevent pigmentation and a test patch ($20) behind ear is recommended.

Pregnant and breastfeeding women are not candidates for Fibroblasting treatments as risk of infection is increased and hormonal imbalances may have an effect on results.

On the day of treatment

Apply the Numbing Cream you have been provided 30-45mins before your treatment and cover with cling wrap.

Upon arrival, you’ll need to complete a medical/consent form and we will take Before Photos for Progress shots and documentation.

Once the area is numb the session may commence.

You may feel some heat in the area which could be slightly uncomfortable and a little irritating. We suggest taking an anti-histamine 60mins before your appointment to help with swelling. You may continue taking these for 2-3 days post-treatment.

Immediately following the treatment, the area will be red and slightly swollen. We will do a complimentary 15min LED Therapy Treatment on treated area to decrease inflammation and aid healing processes. It may feel hot and tight much like a sunburn which may last a few hours-days.  You will see numerous Carbon Micro crusting/ tiny dots and discoloration which will form crusts and fall away after approximately 4-5 days.

We will take After/ Post Treatment photos.

Discoloration may last 10-12 days. Swelling will likely intensify over the coming days. We suggest cold compress and sleeping elevated to help elevate this.

A follow up LED treatment is recommended 3 & 5 days post-treatment to increase healing and reduce inflammation.

Results will be seen immediately and will continue to improve over the coming weeks.

Makeup should be avoided while carbon crusts are on the skin (to avoid infection and pulling the scabs off early causing pitting or scarring)

Mineral makeup can be applied after 3-4 days post-treatment, but must be applied with disposable cotton pads and cleaned gently with a damp cotton pad.

Before leaving, you will be given strict aftercare information, and recommendations for aftercare products that are available at an additional cost. This is to give you the best results and the best recovery.

Driving after a procedure is permitted as swelling should be minimal and not set in until the following day.

*An SPF MUST be worn every day for 12 WEEKS post-treatment to avoid Pigmentation. Please reduce UV exposure (no sun tanning, or keep treated areas covered if outside- Even on those cloudy days!)

                                     Healing Process

Day 1: The swelling peaks the day following the treatment there, Some clients may find it harder to
open their eyes as soon as they get up in the morning the first day following the treatment. Gradually, throughout
the day the swelling will subside slightly. Discomfort, pain and slight discharge can occur, but this is normal.

Day 2: The swelling is the same or slightly less than the previous day (Day 1). The swelling peaks soon after waking up and
subsides slightly throughout the day. Sometimes swelling also spreads to the eye-bags even if no plasma aesthetic
treatment was carried out on the lower eyelids, this is normal because the upper eyelid communicate with the
lower eyelid and some fluid inside the upper eyelid can spread to the eye bags. This undesired
swelling of the lower eyelid will subside over the following days, or you can apply a cool compress to reduce swelling.

Day 3: The swelling should start to subside noticeably and the spots where the plasma arc was applied will start
turning into scabs. The scabs must not be picked and should fall off on their own accord. The discomfort
experienced during day 1 and day 2 should have subsided dramatically. No further pain should be experienced on
the third day following the treatment. For those people who experience eye-bag swelling, this may still be
present during the third day.

Day 4: No discomfort or pain should be felt fourth following the treatment. Some residual minor swelling can be still be on
the upper eyelids / treated area. No more pain or discomfort should be felt.

Day 5: All swelling should have subsided, and some scabs may still be present. The minor swelling on the eye bags should
have almost subsided.

Day 6: The scabs should have started to fall off. In most cases during Day 6 people will struggle to tell whether any
aesthetic treatment has ever been performed.

Day 7: Almost all scabs should have fallen off. At this point it is ok to start using total physical sun screen and apply make-
up as usual.

Week 2: The area although has healed it may feel more tender to the touch than usual and people may experience a
stinging sensation while applying creams or washing normally. The area may look pinker than usual.

Week 3 and 4: The area may be still slightly tender and pinker than the rest of the area.
Month 2: Tenderness should have subsided, and area should have fully blended with the surrounding skin.
